Laser Skin Resurfacing
The physical rigors of pregnancy and the stresses and exhaustion of motherhood can have an effect on the health and appearance of our skin. Skin laxity and wrinkling can give us the appearance of being older than we really are, and ultimately impact our self-esteem. Laser skin resurfacing treatments as part of a Mommy Makeover from Dr. Tiffany McCormack can get rid of damaged outer skin layers, stimulate the body’s own collagen, and result in a more youthful, smoother appearance to the skin. Dr. McCormack utilizes some of the most state-of-the-art laser skin rejuvenation procedures to provide you with the most successful results possible.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedures
Laser skin resurfacing offers a number of benefits that can help new moms improve their skin. In addition to smoothing out skin that’s starting to wrinkle, laser skin resurfacing can improve uneven pigmentation, sun damage, stretch marks, scarring, skin laxity, and age spots. Dr. Tiffany McCormack uses Lumenis™ laser skin rejuvenation systems, known as some of the most advanced available. The ActiveFX™, DeepFX™, and TotalFX™ laser systems can do wonders for the appearance, and health, of your skin.
ActiveFX™
Laser treatment with ActiveFX™ can improve the tightness, tone, and texture of your skin – and significant results can be achieved after just one treatment session. In fact, the ActiveFX™ system is designed to deliver in one procedure the same results that may take you four or five treatment sessions with other laser technologies. Here’s how it works: Our certified nurses will gently glide the handheld laser over the areas targeted for treatment. Light energy will then be absorbed into the skin and stimulate collagen to rebuild healthy skin layers. With proper care, patients can experience successful results from ActiveFX™ that last for years, and occasional follow-up sessions can keep the skin healthy for an even longer period of time.
DeepFX
The DeepFX™laser is designed to treat more severe skin conditions such as areas affected by stretch marks and scars. The treatment also works to rejuvenate fine lines and creases and reduce the size of pores. DeepFX™penetrates only a small portion of the skin’s surface, stimulating elastin and collagen and working to tighten the skin. The DeepFX™laser treatment can have very long-lasting results with proper skin care after the procedure and protection from the sun’s ultra-violet rays.
TotalFX™
TotalFX™ is the combination of both ActiveFX™ and DeepFX™treatments for a more complete skin makeover that addresses a number of aesthetic issues at once. The TotalFX™ treatment can do wonders for the appearance of your skin and give damaged areas a smooth, healthy sheen.
Laser Skin Resurfacing Recovery
Recovery from laser skin resurfacing will depend on the number of areas being treated, the severity of the skin condition, and which technique is being used to rejuvenate your skin. Treatment with ActiveFX™ typically results in a 4-7 day recovery period, whereas recovery from DeepFX™procedures may take as little as 7-10 days. Some degree of peeling, redness, and discomfort can be expected after laser skin resurfacing; however, this should fade in the days following treatment and can be alleviated with topical creams.
