Reno Plastic Surgeon Anticipates Surge in Mommy Makeovers for Mother’s Day
Reno, NV — According to recent reports from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), there were more than 325,000 mommy makeover procedures performed nationally on women ages 20 to 39 in the past year, while 62% of moms say they would consider undergoing a procedure if cost were not an issue. Reno plastic surgeon Dr. Tiffany McCormack says she expects these numbers to continue increasing with Mother’s Day on the horizon. She says she has found patients are more aware of the costly effects of motherhood on one’s appearance during the holiday, and the overall increase in plastic surgery procedures (5% since 2010) has encouraged patients at her practice to seek the wide variety of enhancements available to help them improve self confidence and feminine beauty through a mommy makeover.
At her center for plastic surgery in Reno, Dr. McCormack provides services in a wide range of cosmetic procedures including breast augmentation, tummy tucks, facelifts, and BOTOX® Cosmetic. However, she says she has observed a growing trend in plastic surgery requests amongst her patients for mommy makeover procedures. Combining body contouring and breast surgery treatments, the mommy makeover is targeted towards women of childbearing age to help alleviate some of the signs of aging and motherhood. Dr. McCormack says she is expecting a swell in demand for the mommy makeover-related procedures like tummy tuck in Reno in the weeks approaching Mother’s Day as more women seek confidence in the beauty of being a mom.
Dr. McCormack says common procedures associated with the mommy makeover include breast augmentation, the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure performed across the country according to ASPS statistics, as well as tummy tucks, breast lifts, and liposuction. While these procedures can be combined to help reduce recovery time and improve results, she says each procedure also offers effective treatment of problem areas by themselves as well. Dr. McCormack says women seeking a boost in their appearance for Mother’s Day, either as a gift from someone or for themselves, also have other aesthetic options available to them that can make significant improvements to facial lines or a tired appearance.
Regardless of which procedures a patient is considering, Dr. McCormack stresses the importance of consulting with a board-certified and experienced plastic surgeon before undergoing any cosmetic treatment. She says patients have the opportunity to make a significant change in their level of self-confidence through plastic surgery, and choosing the right practice for a procedure is essential for achieving the desired outcome: “Having had children myself, I understand the changes a mother’s body goes through following pregnancy. I find strength in being able to help women regain confidence in their appearance and feel great about their bodies by providing something not always attainable through diet and exercise alone.”
